Activity: Three Characters, One Story

Meet the characters
Introduce the three characters and ask children to describe each one.

Assign roles
Give masks to three children; others become narrators or audience.

Begin the story
Tell the beginning and pause for the actors to respond.

Speak your lines
Encourage each actor to speak one or two simple lines.

Middle to end
Continue through the middle and ending while keeping the sequence.

Retell in order
Ask the audience to retell the story in order.

Swap and repeat
Swap roles and repeat with a new ending.
