Activity: Roll, Reveal and Practise

Open and unroll
Invite the child to open the drum and unroll the chart carefully.

Name it first
Point to one target and ask the child to identify it before writing.

Model and trace
Model one tracing stroke, then let the child trace and rewrite.

Count objects
For numbers, connect the number to objects the child can count.

Letter and picture
For letters, ask the child to find a familiar related word or picture.

Check and improve
Ask the child to check the work, erase and improve one part.

Roll and close
Roll the chart back into the drum and close it independently.
